Planar Systems added a 55-inch LCD model to the Clarity Matrix LCD Video Wall System family. The Clarity Matrix 55 offers Full HD resolution and high quality visual performance with the narrowest image-to-image gap (5.7 mm) and thinnest profile (3.6″/ 93 mm) in the industry. Expected to be available in Q2 of 2011, the system comes with an ultra-narrow bezel, EasyAxis Mounting System, off-board components and LED backlight.

VIZIO launched ultra widescreen Cinemawide HDTV, 21:9 Cinema aspect ratio models that can display native 2.35:1 (“CinemaScope”) movies without any black bar. Available in three class size models, 50-, 58-, and 71-inch, each model features VIZIO Internet Apps™ (VIA) in Cinema mode. The 50- and 58-inch models are Edge Lit Razor LED™ HDTVs with Smart Dimming, and the 71-inch model boats Full Array TruLED™ backlighting (see the demonstration at the 2011 CES). All three models also feature VIZIO’s Theater 3D™ technology that delivers flicker-free 3D performance that is up to 2x brighter and significantly reduces crosstalk compared to current Active Shutter LCD TVs and works in conjunction with battery-free, lightweight glasses.
Roundtable Concepts launched RTC23, a licensed Marvel Comic LCD and LED HDTVs. The cast of characters consists of Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Wolverine, Thor and others. Embellished on the bottom two corners of the frame, the name and the character also appear on the screen for approximately 8 seconds, making it the “Ultimate Comic Fan’s TV”. The RTC23 is offered in 22″, 32″, 42″ and 55″ HD LCD screen sizes as well as 40″ and 46″ LED HDTV’s.
Set to debut at CES early next year in Vegas, the LG’s 0.1-inch thick LCD panel has no doubt to claim itself as the world’s thinnest LCD panel. Measuring 42-inch (diagonal wide), thie panel has 1080p resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and weighing at 8.8 pounds.
Mentioned as the slimmest LCD TV panel in the universe, the Samsung “Needle Slim” LED HDTV is only 3mm thin. I don’t know if there will be slimmer panel than this, sure it will when the OLED panel is ready for the real mass production later. Expected to be released as soon as possible, the Needle Slim will be available in 40-inch size with 5000:1 contrast ratio.
Mentioned as the first Windows 7 certified monitor, the HP’s Compaq L2105tm is a 21.5-inch 1080p multitocuh LCD Monitor which is targeting consumers and SOHO markets. Still using CCFL instead of LED-backlight, the L2105tm features 250 cd/m2 brightness, 5ms response time, 170/160 viewing angles, 72% NTSC color gamut, 1000:1 contrast ratio, TCO 5.0 Displays compliance, VGA, and DVI-D with HDCP connections. It can detect stylush and any other input method such as a gloved finger.
