At CeBIT 2012 in Hannover, Germany last March, Acer introduced two new Android-based tablet, the ICONIA A700 and A510. The A700 is a 10.1-inch Full HD tablet with display resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. Powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, the A700 is scheduled to be released this month but I lost its track. Acer’ first Ultrabook, the Acer Aspire S3-951, is now available in North American for $899 (MSRP). This Ultrabook powers on instantly, connects to the Web in seconds and provides up to 50 days of stand-by time, or 6 hours of continuous usage. Measuring just half-an-inch at its thinnest and weighing a mere 2.983 pounds, it’s as easy to carry as a magazine or file folder. Its overall dimensions are 12.59 inches by 8.52-inches by .51 to.68-inches. As slim and easy to carry as a magazine, it still includes an Intel Core i5 Processor, 20GB solid state drive, Intel® HD Graphics 3000, 320GB hard drive, 4GB of memory, and essential USB and HDMI ports.

The new TV commercial of Acer has been aired by the main Italian broadcasters since the end of April. The campaign, with the participation of Devon&Devon, illustrates the wide range of possibilities of use, the versatility and unequalled portability of the Iconia A 500 Tablet PC: the first seconds of the commercial show a young woman using her Tablet PC sitting comfortably in Devon&Devon’s Draycott tub. A strategic moment for communication of the values of the product is constructed around the tub: easy, comfortable use of the portable, also emphasized by the background soundtrack. The commercial, directed by Tommaso Bertè and Paolo Borgato – a duo renowned internationally for the Eni, Ikea, Lavazza and Vodafone campaigns– is produced by Fargo Film Srl.
