At CeBIT 2012 in Hannover, Germany last March, Acer introduced two new Android-based tablet, the ICONIA A700 and A510. The A700 is a 10.1-inch Full HD tablet with display resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. Powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, the A700 is scheduled to be released this month but I lost its track. So let’s focus on its little brother, the ICONIA A510 which is available at Amazon.com

Toshiba has three new tablets with different display sizes – 13.3-inch, 10.1-inch and 7.7-inch. In this post, I want to show you the 10.1-inch model. Known as Excite 10, this tablet runs Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich just like the other two. Coming with a scratch-resistant Corning® Gorilla® Glass display, the Excite 10 boasts a 1280×800 resolution with 10-finger multi-touch support.
A 10-inch is Steve Jobs’ favorite tablet size, that’s why the iPad is only availbale in this model. Other than that, it will be too small or too big for our hand. Do you agree with Jobs? I was lucky when I visited Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya in November, 2011. Why? because there was an event by Samsung, the company was demonstrating the new Galaxy Note to their customers in Indonesia. But my first hand on made me feel the device is little bit too big in my hand, it slipped out of my hand at the first touch, lucky me, it’s saved by the Asian sales promotion girl who standing beside me.
Samsung stated that Galaxy Note is not a phone neither a tablet, it’s new category that stands somewhere in between, just believe what they say, no question. As far as I concern, the Note has larger screen than common smartphones available in the market. It boasts a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED screen and includes a unique stylus called the S Pen. The Android-powered Galaxy Note also called the Super Phone, or whatever you like.

Lenovo said that its IdeaTab S2 10 tablet is available immediately in China. But in America and united Kingdom, it will come at later date. The S2 is thinner than its predecessor at just 1/3 -inch, and it weighs only 1.1lbs or less than 0.5kg, that’s so light! Powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 dual core CPU, the IdeaTab S2 runs the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which make it perfect to stay on the edge.
