I want to mention three solar powered phones that’s been announced recently including one from Samsung, one from LG, and one from ZTE. Ok lets start from Samsung, the Blue Earth phone, which is described as the first full-touchscreen cell phone to run on solar power. The phone allows users to switch to ‘eco-mode’ to adjust Bluetooth and screen brightness and backlight duration to consume less power. It also features a pedometer to measure how much the user save the earth.

The Zero-Watt PC from Fujitsu Siemens will be displayed at the next CeBIT in early March 2009. You may wonder how PC running without power, this PC consumes no power only when in stand by mode, but I think it still makes us wonder. Lets wait and see..

Going green is sexy. And Motorola want to be more sexy with its new and carbonfree phone, the Renew W233. The phone features a 100% recyclable housing made from recycled water bottles. This entry-level phone packed with a prepaid envelope so users can sent back the phone whenever reaching the end of its life cycle for recycling. Its manual is also printed on recycled paper, I like it.

The idea is simple and brilliant, as we know sun glasses is made to protect our eyes from harmful sun rays, and why we don’t convert the rays into electrical energy. The SIG will integrate dye solar cell into the lenses of the glasses.

The new Casio G-Shock GMW5600 is expected to be available soon with £100 of price-tag. Powered by solar, this watch coming with old style. Yes, it’s very old style, I had a watch similar to its shape when I was in elementary school.
