I heard that Bill Gates had predicted the coming of tablet era years before iPad was born to the world. I have watched the video showing his futuristic imagination, and I can tell you what I heard is true. And now, more than two years after the iPad’s release, Bill Gates’ company introduces its tablet computer called Surface. Scheduled to be available later this year, the Surface tablet has a 10.6-inch display and will run Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.
The Surface tablet will be offered in version running both Intel’s x86 chip and ARM’s. Weighing less than 680 gr (1.5 pounds), the ARM version will be available first than followed by the Intel version three months later. As you can see on the image, the Surface comes with a well-designed cover with keyboard and track pad functionality.
Let’s take a closer look at the design. Equipped with built-in kickstand, the Surface is only 9.3 mm (0.37 inches) thick. And last but not least, the Surface’s cover will be offered in a variety of colours, not just black! Okay, let’s see what the Surface can do to take on Apple iPad and Android tablet.
