iPhone 5 Rumours

iPhone 5 Rumours

With the release of the brilliant iPhone 4 last summer, Apple kept up the trend of releasing a new model every year so it seems that it will only be a matter of time before an announcement will be made about the next instalment of the award winning series of smartphones.

There are so many rumours on the internet about just what form the next iPhone will take that by the time you read them all, the iPhone 6 will be in the stores so here is a couple of the more common rumours to take in while we wait for Steve Jobs to make an announcement.

Edge to Edge Screen

There has been a lot of talk that Apple will introduce a new edge to edge display for the new iPhone but it seems to be originating from a leaked photo which Apple have continuously denied is theirs and many people are currently inclined to believe them. Would be something different if it were true though!

No Hardware Revolution

It has been rumoured that the iPhone 5 will have Qualcomm chipsets – which would replace the current Infineon chipsets in the iPhone 4, but other than that it seems that it is only slight upgrades we will be seeing from the new phone in terms of hardware. Don’t get me wrong, we will see improvements; apparently a new antenna, 1.2GHz processor (possibly dual-core) and a larger screen: 3.7″ instead of 3.5″ but we will not see the massive changes we saw last summer when the iPhone 4 was launched.

NFC Technology?

Apple have looked at using Near Field Communication technology before and may again decide that the use of the iPhone as a “virtual wallet” may again have to wait but with several phones being launched recently with NFC technology built in including the new Google Nexus and the Samsung Galaxy Pro, Apple’s hand may be forced on this matter.
