Are you one of those people who are still thinking about whether you should get a handheld wireless device or not? Are you concerned that you might never be able to figure it out? Does the sight of all those little buttons and moving icons make you dizzy? Then this article is for you.
In a world that moves faster than we think, it seems that owning a Blackberry or some such other device is a necessity. Yet many of us have still not taken the plunge. It took us long enough to even get a mobile phone, let alone a little computer that is supposed to do everything in our lives. But that’s just it! It really does help make everything easier. Here’s how.
The be-all end-all of the PDA’s is the Blackberry. With its functional yet sexy design, the Blackberry first made it out the market as a mobile phone that could also do email. Thanks to its push email function, the Blackberry allowed you to go out for a cup of coffee and not only be able to answer your phone calls, but your emails too! This soon meant that business people taking trips could stay in touch with work while traveling. Or working moms could continue to answer emails on their way to pick up their kids at a recital. As long as it can access a wireless network, which at this point, is pretty much everywhere, the Blackberry will send and receive emails. One of its best features is its keyboard, by far superior to other PDA’s, allowing you the use of both thumbs. Though this might sound complicated at first, it is surprisingly easy to learn.
Next was text messaging, which though many continue to find annoying, has found a steady place in our society. Want to get something across to your business partner in a room full of competitors? Text them! Your partner will get it right away and no one else will know!
Need to fax something? You no longer need to find a machine where to do it. Your blackberry will send the document in question using the Internet. Which brings us to the next echelon in Blackberry technology: web browsing. Have a meeting and can’t remember exactly who or what this guy does? Look him up on the Internet!
Aside from all of this, the Blackberry includes an address book, a calendar and a to do list application among other useful uses. Oh and of course, it is a phone. A very good one at that.
Some of the newer Blackberry models, such as the Pearl, the Storm and the Curve (all of which are available from Vodafone on monthly deals, you can find their full blackberry range online) have become incredibly popular, as they have continued to improve features without losing functionality. So go on, make your life easier: get a Blackberry!
