Canon following Sony and Panasonic to join the battle in AVHCD format. Today they released HR10 DVD camcorder as the first move. Its main features include 1/2.7″ CMOS sensor with 2,960,000 pixels, Digic DVII processor (support up to 2048 x 1536 resolution), and Optical image stabilization.
Using Canon HR10, you can record in 7Mbps, 9MBps, and 12Mbps bits rates to any dual layer disc formats. Other key features include: 2.7-inch LCD screen, and I/O ports: HDMI, AV, component, USB 2.0, and MiniSD card slot. The camcorder will hit retail store next August for $1199. [via gadgetgoblin]
