Erlier this month Samsung announced its new Hard Disk Drive: SpinPoint S166 series. The company said that this series is ultra silent and high-speed HDD. Offering two models 80GB and 160GB, each model generate noise of 24 decibels in idle state and 27.5 decibels when in use (85% lower than its counterparts). Other technical specifications include 3.5-inch of size, 7,200rpm of spin speed, 8MB buffer, and SATA 3.0Gbps interface (also available in PATA model). [via samsung hub]
